I am proud to offer my strong endorsement for Sarah Silkie for Portland City Council. With her impressive background in environmental engineering, deep roots in Portland, and extensive city experience, Sarah is uniquely positioned to address our city's pressing issues. Her platform of fiscal responsibility and her visionary plan to increase housing density downtown will provide much-needed housing options, foster economic growth, and reduce our environmental footprint. Sarah’s passion for serving our community, innovative problem-solving, and steadfast dedication to the environment make her the ideal candidate. I wholeheartedly support Sarah Silkie and strongly encourage you to join me in supporting her.

 I'm impressed by Sarah's smarts, experience, and commitment to our communities. We need her voice on Council not only because she brings the right values and priorities, but because she actually understands how to work within government to get things done. So many of our challenges require collaboration and cooperation across agencies and across sectors- I know she will guide Portland to make an impact. 
 

Sarah will bring a strong commitment to leading on environment issues, a background in environmental engineering and a real world understanding of how city bureaus operate to City Council. These are the types of skill sets that the City needs to regain its place as a national leader on protecting our urban watersheds and creating climate resilient urban landscapes.  

I first met Sarah on Zoom during the Covid Lockdown as we explored racial justice together with SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice).

Sarah is fighting for equity in our city. She learns from different viewpoints and brings her engineering experience and innovative thinking to the conversation.

Sarah exemplifies the energy, intelligence, and ability to work with others that we need to solve the problems facing Portland.

Sarah will be an advocate and will work hard for her district and the City of Portland. She embodies the five tenets of Tae Kwondo: 1. Courtesy, 2. Integrity, 3. Perseverance, 4. Self-control, and 5. Indomitable spirit, and she will look out for small businesses which are the lifeblood of Portland. 

I'm excited to endorse Sarah for District 4! Having lived, worked and parented in many of District 4's neighborhoods, she is connected to what the people of this district need at this time of transition. Sarah is someone who can navigate our new City Council structure with smarts and integrity. I especially admire her commitment to work towards dignity and well-being for all of Portland's residents.

Sarah cares about practical and workable solutions. I respect her courage, compassion and readiness to serve Portland. I encourage everyone to talk with her.

 Sarah creates a team dynamic that promotes meaningful participation and a sense of belonging, while establishing a shared vision and purpose. Sarah takes feedback very well, she is open to hearing things, thinking critically about what was said, and brings it back around once she has found a path forward.
